PCAL Workshop 3: Clay Sculpting - Monster Mayhem

Class Description: Art+Design Labs is excited to offer these special new Pre-College ArtLab (PCAL) workshops designed for high school students. In this workshop, students will learn about the properties of the oven-bake polymer clay Super Sculpey, how to create anatomy and detail with the medium, and how this can be utilized in a variety of professional situations, including sculpting monsters for film and television!

Instructor: Nick Sparger is an award-winning filmmaker and sculptor from both sides of Missouri. He received his B.F.A. from the Kansas City Art Institute in Filmmaking and Asian Studies — a testament to his passion for Godzilla and foreign cinema. Within his practice, he creates films exploring the human experience through world-building, performance, and visual effects.

Supplies: All supplies and materials are included in the class fee and will be provided during the workshop.

Parking: Parking is available in any of the (NON-RESERVED) KCAI parking lot spaces across campus. RESERVED spaces are available after 5pm on the weekdays and all day on the weekends. There is also available street parking surrounding KCAI campus. 

Refund: Registered participants can receive refunds to the original payment method (Studio Fee minus Humanitix Fee) up to 14 days before the first class.
